Nets 87, Hawks 85 : My hope/prayer of the Hawks actually making the playoffs is starting to diminish. The Hawks lost their second straight, which doesn’t seem like a big deal, unless you’re a Hawks fan and you know that two straight means 8 more to follow.
Magic 103, Raptors 113: This is big news because Chris Bosh had 41 points. That’s big news because he’s an ex-Georgia Tech guy whose ass I’d probably slap if I saw him walking down the street. The Raptors, if anyone’s noticed, are atop the Atlantic and hold the 8-spot in the playoffs.
Grizzlies 97, Mavericks 113: The Mavericks never seem to lose and the Grizzlies never seem to win. Whatever the case, the Mavs extended their home winning streak to 16.
Heat 91, Celtics 79: Shaq played for his second straight game, and though he only had 9 points, he was fortunate enough to be playing the Celtics. Who suck. And lost their 16th straight. And who don’t have a player you can name now that Paul Pierce is out. Kevin Durant or Greg Oden is the only decision they’ll be making. . .
Hornets 114, Nuggets 112: All the people who said AI couldn’t make a team better are looking right. Philly’s record has improved since he left, and Denver’s record has drastically gotten worse.
Warriors 93, T’Wolves 121: The good news for the Warriors: Stephen Jackson and Al Harrington combined for 30 points. The bad news: They shot the ball 34 times. The T’Wolves had 7 players in double digits, as they routed the Warriors to keep their playoff hopes alive.
